The Bill (Reg. No.3617) imposes a moratorium on eviction of publishing houses, bookshops, book distributing enterprises in order to facilitate further development of the national book publishing, create favourable conditions for the economic entities dealing with publication, production and distribution of books.
The Committee members stated that adoption of resolutions allowing eviction of bookshops and publishing houses by the local self-government bodies contradicted the regulations of legislative acts concerning governmental support of book publishing. Such regulations envisage a long-term lease of premises to the publishing houses, book distributing enterprises and prolongation of the lease agreements concluded earlier.
